GIVE PEACE A CHANCE
"All we are saying is give peace a chance." And still, 29 years after his murder, we're no closer to world peace, or even to personal safety. So far this year over 76,000 people have been shot with handguns. Yes, I know - guns don't kill people, other people do, but if those people had a baseball bat instead of a gun, don't you think the mortality rate would be significantly lower?
Today, in memory of John, get involved. Write a letter to your Congressman. Make a donation to GUN CONTROL. Call up an old friend and mend that broken fence. Call your mom, or your dad, or any member of your family and tell them you love them. Volunteer at a homeless shelter. Offer to drive a cancer patient to their chemotherapy. Donate clothes or food to a local shelter. Offer your professional services to those who might not be able to afford them. Share your talents: teach someone to sew, or knit, or paint. Open your heart. Let go of old grudges and resentments. Make a difference. Give peace a chance.
